2025 ROAM Geelong Saturday 11 October 2025 4pm - 10pm
Welcome to ROAM Geelong, where the ordinary transforms into the extraordinary!
We invite you to help shape the event into one intriguing day and night in October offering an opportunity for audiences to roam and discover the vibrant creative heart of Geelong.
ROAM Geelong will transform the arts and cultural precinct (with a road closure on Little Malop street) and Johnstone Park with large-scale performances, immersive and interactive installations, and collaborations with local artists and institutions.
ROAM Geelong aims to weave together a mesmerising tapestry of arts, featuring electrifying performance acts, dynamic physical theatre, immersive works, and striking installations. Victorias newest immersive arts event is set throughout central Geelong creating a surreal atmosphere where creativity knows no bounds.
A core objective of ROAM is to reflect and amplify the stories, histories, and voices of Geelongs diverse communities. Through art, performance, and storytelling, the festival invites creatives to explore local identity and place, bringing attention to both well-known and hidden narratives. This focus deepens the community's connection to the city and celebrates the character and diversity that defines Geelong.
We invite you to submit your concepts to create immersive projections, interactive installations, and site-specific performances that spill out into the laneways, courtyards, and facades of the cultural precinct. Concepts should respond directly to the stories, architecture, and people of Geelong grounding the spectacle in place and identity.
What sets ROAM Geelong apart is its dynamic use of Geelongs highly concentrated arts and cultural precinct a rare gem where iconic cultural institutions sit side-by side in a walkable area, each with its own architectural flair and creative offering.
From the strikingly modern Geelong Arts Centre to the historic charm of the Geelong Gallery, and the innovative spaces of the Geelong Library Heritage Centre (The Dome), the festival brings these venues to life through a curated collision of art, design, technology, and performance. This proximity of diverse, high-quality institutions will allow festival-goers to seamlessly explore a spectrum of experiences within a compact area a cultural journey like no other.
